Egypt Update - 19th February 2014
Following recent news reports, we are continuing to monitor the situation in Egypt, working in close collaboration with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO). Our experienced Thomas Cook team on the ground in the Red Sea have again assured us that our customers in Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada are enjoying their holidays.
Currently the Foreign and Commonwealth Office does not see any risk of travel to the popular Red Sea resort and we are happy to report that we continue to operate our flight and holiday programme as normal to the Winter Sun Resorts of Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada
Normal booking conditions still apply should any customer wish to amend or cancel. As a precaution Thomas Cook UK and Ireland has currently postponed selling its excursions to St Catherine’s Monastery from the Red Sea areas until further notice.
The Foreign Office are constantly reviewing their policy and updates can be found on their website www.fco.gov.uk or (www.dfa.ie for customers from the Republic of Ireland). Any further updates will be posted on this website accordingly.
Turkish Visa Update
From 10th April 14, all holders of a British Citizen Passport will require a visa to visit Turkey and must obtain this in advance of travel from the official Turkish Government website www.evisa.gov.tr for $20 per person. You are advised to apply at least one-week before departure. Visas will not be issued on arrival in Turkey. If you hold a different type of Passport, check visa requirements with the Turkish Embassy before you travel. Failure to comply with entry requirements will result in travel being denied/entry refused.
